  Happy Friday!

Students that are isolating at home are expected to complete the work posted in Google Classroom. If they don't, they will fall behind and it will be difficult to get caught up.

Handouts, answer keys, notes and assignments given during the week are posted on Google Classroom almost every day.

School library:  Ms. Fitz will come visit our class for our book exchange on Monday. If you would like to borrow new books, be sure to complete the form on Google Classroom this weekend. There will be no class time to order books; students should do this at home. What can be done at home to improve language and math skills : 
Important notice: 
  • Suggestion to store binders, textbook, pencil case, etc. in the classroom:  I have provided small baskets to students who needed storage to put their stuff in class, but they are too small or starting to break.  Here is a suggestion for a good size plastic bin.  It is strongly advise that students have a bigger and sturdier bin to store their school supplies.

  • Learn the bilingual O Canada song for November 11th (Remembrance Day).
  • We are about to finish the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence lowlands unit in Social Studies.  A test might be given at the end of next week or at the beginning of the one after.  Keep an eye on Google Classroom Social Studies contents for the specific date.

  • Students need to have a title (with the name of the artist) of a French song for next Friday.  They can send me an email or tell me next week (there is a list in Google Classroom - Combat des clips).  The oral presentations will start on Monday, November 9th. (See week 19 to 23 of October for the power point explaining what to do).

  • We will start decorating the door for Halloween next Monday and we are in need of materials.  If you have one of the following things in your house and don't mind sharing with us, that would be helpful : yarn (orange, brown and yellow), black candles (flameless one), creepy Halloween decoration that is sound activated, streamers (orange, black and purple).

School library: The library is open! This year, students will be able to borrow books from the library by ordering their books online, thanks to Mrs. Fitz! There will be no class time to order books; students should do this at home. Here is the link to order your library books:

  • Math : Estimation, rounding numbers, addition and subtraction evaluation 

Math : We started the multiplication and division unit.  It is important that students practice their timetable.

ELA: Students continued working on their story during our Writer's Workshop and their spelling activity.  We worked on conjunctions.

Writer's Workshop text: The best thing ever

FLA:  Students should have finished typing their wetland creature's text in Google Docs.  If they haven't they should finish it at home.  The presentations of their creature will start Monday.

Social Studies: We discussed about the history of the Atlantic region, such as when French explorers founded Port-Royal and Acadia, the Great Deportation of the Acadians and the conflict between the English colonies and French colonies.
