March 1st, 2021

 Happy Friday!

Students that are isolating at home are expected to complete the work posted in Google Classroom. If they don't, they will fall behind and it will be difficult to get caught up.

Handouts, answer keys, notes, and assignments given during the week are posted on Google Classroom almost every day.

School library:  If you would like to borrow new books, be sure to complete the form on Google Classroom this weekend. There will be no class time to order books; students should do this at home. Here is the link to order your library books: Library request form

What can be done at home to improve language and math skills :
Important notice:
  • There will be a Science test (Electricity Unit) next Thursday (March 11th).
  • It is strongly advised that students have their own French/English dictionary and a Bescherelle.  (I do not have enough paper versions of those kinds of dictionaries for every student in the classroom).
  • Read the letter that was sent home about the Electricity Unit House Project.
Francophonie Week:
  • Next week, there will be activities to highlight the French language and culture.  Something that students can do is visit this website Journal des Rendez-vous de la Francophonie to learn more about the Acadian French culture and do some activities.
  • Monday: Food Truck - Students should bring a lunch and snacks even though they ordered from the Food Truck.
  • Tuesday: French movie - If students want to bring one special snack and drink, they can do it.
  • Wednesday: Sugar Shack - If everything goes well, students will be able to have one stick of maple taffy.  Students can dress up as a lumberjack/fur trader (checkered shirt) and take selfies with the mascots.
  • Thursday: Spelling contest -(Concours d'épellation) and Sugar Cube Castle contest.

Marks posted on Power School (to be posted by the end of the week):
  • ELA: Show and Tell

Week at a glance:

Have a nice weekend!
