February 5th, 2021

 Happy Friday!

Students that are isolating at home are expected to complete the work posted in Google Classroom. If they don't, they will fall behind and it will be difficult to get caught up.

Handouts, answer keys, notes, and assignments given during the week are posted on Google Classroom almost every day.

School library:  If you would like to borrow new books, be sure to complete the form on Google Classroom this weekend. There will be no class time to order books; students should do this at home. Here is the link to order your library books: Library request form

What can be done at home to improve language and math skills :
Important notice:
  • Next week, students can bring loonies for the Heart and Stroke Foundation (last day: February 10th)
  • Wednesday, February 10th will be wear red, white, and pink, or something with hearts on it.
  • For the book report/book fair, I suggested to students to buy a trifold (2$ at Dollorama) to present their work.  Here is an example: Trifold - Salon du livre
  • Monday, March 8th, there will be a Food Truck selling Beavertails and poutine to students.  Students need to tell me what they would like and bring me the money in cash (exact change) no later than February 17th.  We will not accept any money after that date, nor on the day the Food Truck comes.  A Beavertail is 7$, poutine 5$ and soft drink 1$.  If a student does not want gravy or cheese in their poutine, it will still be 5$.  All students need to bring a lunch on that day.  If something goes wrong, they will still have something to eat.  No refunds will be issued unless the whole class is in isolation.

Due dates:
  • Show and Tell: presentations start on February 8th.  (Guidelines and rubric in Google Classroom).   Here is the order of the presentations: Show and Tell
  • Students need to finish reading their French book for the book report for February 15th.

Marks posted on Power School:
  • None for now

Week at a glance:
