October 2nd 2020

 Happy Friday!

**It is strongly advised that students have a French/English dictionary.

Here is a summary of what we did this week.  It is always advised to review with your child what they have seen in class.  Handouts, answer keys, notes and assignments given during the week are posted on Google Classroom every Friday.

Due dates:
  • Nothing is due for next week.

Marks posted on Power School:
  • FLA : Tintin et les cigares du pharaon.
  • Sciences: Écosystèmes humides

Math : Students learned about estimation and rounding numbers.  They also practice their skills by adding and subtracting big numbers.  An evaluation about those will be given next Thursday.

Science: We are finally done with the wetland unit.  Students will start working on creating their own organism living in a wetland area.  In this project, students will write a text describing their organism, they will build their creature and they will also present it to the rest of the class.

**To build the creature, if you have any extra materials in the list below to share with the rest of the class, that would be really helpful:

  • Buttons
  • Yarn
  • Beads
  • Tissue paper
  • Pipe cleaner
  • Etc.

ELA: Students finished their acrostic poem.  They also received a notebook and a writer's handbook.  With those, students will focus on their writing two days a week.

FLA:  We talked about articles and adjectives.  Students started working on their wetland creature.

School library: The library is open! This year, students will be able to borrow books from the library by ordering their books online, thanks to Mrs. Fitz! There will be no class time to order books; students should do this at home. Here is the link to order your library books:
